Shea moisture is certified organic, natural and cruelty free
hair care brand. I have been following Shea Moisture on twitter for quite some
time and saw their products in Boots stores as well. For last few years, I am
trying my best to go for natural hair products. I am eliminating products with
SLS, parabens and silicon in my hair care routine. I don’t have any extensive
or lavish routine anyway. But a nice warm oil massage and a good combination of
shampoo + conditioner which don’t strip natural hair oils, cleanse scalp
properly without leaving any nasty residue and make hair healthy looking, is
all I want. Since I got a baby, oil massage is just a fancy thought now and I rely
more on my shampoo and conditioner.
Luckily, I was sent Shea Moisture 100% virgin coconut oil
shampoo and conditioner from their range, which are infused with coconut oil, Shea
butter and few other oils to rehydrate dry and frizzy hair while acacia senegal,
commonly known as gum arabica, coats strands and lock in moisture. Coconut oil
is my favourite oil for massaging scalp. Actually, I use coconut oil for almost
everything such as oil pulling, baby massage and as a barrier cream at nappy
change too. Postpartum hair fall has left me with thin, lacklustre and frizzy
strands. So these products arrived at right time.
The ingredients list of 100% virgin coconut oil shampoo
and conditioner is also very impressive. It has aloe vera, rosehip oil and argan
oil for maximum hydration and nourishment. After first use I could visibly see
the difference it made. For SLS free shampoo, it lathers pretty well. In
combination with conditioner, it leaves hair clean and manageably soft. My hair
doesn’t tangle much but the richness of products makes the brushing much more
effortless. Although I have oily scalp, coconut oil shampoo and conditioner don’t
make my hair extra oily. For super oily hair, it will be too much of hydration
but for dry hair, it is a haven. The coconut fragrance is pretty strong too
which stays for long time.
I am in love with my new shampoo and conditioner and
surly will be trying out more products from Shea Moisture soon, as they have
product for all hair emergencies. Shea Moisture products are available at Boots. What are your favourite hair products?
