Missguided Babe Power: An Insta Worthy Perfume

Missguided Babe Power was the fastest selling perfume, outselling Paco Rabbane and Dior when it launched last year. I didn’t even know that there was a perfume by Missguided and it was already a smashing hit, until I received it. That is because it is not the brand where I would normally look for perfume.

However, if I was a teenager or this perfume was launched many years ago, I would be wearing it almost every day. Missguided has hit all the marks with Babe Power EDP. Let's first talk about the packaging. It comes in a rose gold can. Rose gold is a big trend and Missguided has given the best present. Who mind a bit of rose gold in life? The outer carton box has Ten Commandments to be more powerful and boss of you – very clever. And fizzy drink inspired can casing is quite unique and cute at the same time and very Instagramable. The ring pull is the atomizer and there is “press for good vibes” written on top of can. It doesn’t blend with my other perfume bottles but I suppose that is the idea behind. Babe Power is clearly targeting young people and it constantly reminds them to be more confident and evokes positivity. It is strong, lively and a bit cheeky perfume. Staying power of Babe Power is excellent. It stayed all day on my skin. It is quite strong perfume, not subtle but not horrible whatsoever. At only £28, 80ml can is quite affordable but the perfume feels premium. It has all the elements to make celebrities perfumes feel inadequate (no offence) by outshining them.

Babe Power EDP is an amalgamation of many scents – fruity, floral, sweet, warm and sparkling. The opening notes are grapefruit zest, sour cherry, pink pepper, crisp apple, pineapple and rhubarb. By the sounds of all these scents one may think it to be very fruity but the addition of vanilla and musk give it a bit of warmth. Orange blossom, jasmine and peony make the floral heart of perfume. Candyfloss scent adds enough sweetness to the perfume to be more joyful. I was never fond of sweet fragrances and my previous fragrances reviews can tell that better. However the addition of crisp fruity notes rather than sweet and musk as a settling note take the edge off and make Babe Power more desirable.

Did you try the Babe Power? What are your thoughts? It is available at Boots.
