Hourglass Veil Translucent Loose Setting Powder – a beauty in a jar

Hourglass powder products – blushes and setting powders – are like precious gems in my makeup collection. I recently added another gem, Hourglass veil translucent loose setting powder which actually has finely milled precious stone; Diamond.

It is finely milled and utterly lightweight powder which gives a soft focus finish to skin, blurring imperfection while setting makeup and controlling excessive oils. Although HG veil powder has a little sheen, it gives the most beautiful ethereal glow to skin without making skin shiny.

Diamond particles help to prevent flashback as this powder also have mica. It is quite interesting that veil powder gives healthy soft glow to skin and at the same time keep skin matte. However, it may not be for super oily skin.

Like other hourglass products, veil translucent powder also comes in a luxurious jar. Gold sifter is stamped “H” to dispense little amount of powder. I am absolutely in love with packaging. Half of my decision of purchasing was influenced by the look of packaging tbh.

HG veil translucent powder is formulated without talc, so no cakey or drying skin whatsoever. The light reflecting particles minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for fresher and flawless skin. Believe me it made my crappy makeup day hundreds times better.

Being a translucent powder, it works for all skin tones as it is undetectable on skin. It is also suitable for all skin types too because it is talc-free. So it will work for dry skin as well and for mature skin too.

I am not a fan of traditional setting powders. However, Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless powder is the only talc powder which worked for me because of its hydrating properties. Talc powders make my skin uncomfortably dry and tight. I reviewed CT powder already. You can read my post to compare it with HG powder. So HG powder is heaven sent for me. It is an expensive powder but you need a tiny amount to set makeup. I use both powders together. CT powder to set concealer and apply on T-zone, while HG powder to finish and set overall makeup.

Hourglass powders are my ultimate choice when it comes to luxury makeup. Hourglass veil translucent setting powder is vegan. Hourglass is cruelty free brand and is on a way to go completely vegan till 2020. So they added one other product to the list.

Hourglass veil translucent powder is available for £36.
