Dior J’adore is a luxury and class in a bottle. Ultra-feminine, amphora shaped bottle, with gold lid is very lady-like with an edge. J’adore is a perfect combination of old and modern scents. I have sentimental attachment to this perfume because of the notes. It brings back a lot of good memories every time I wear it. That could be the main reason I got this pure floral perfume. All the main notes in this perfume are very noticeable and you can easily pick every note. It is a simple accord of three very elegant top class flowers from the garden which have distinct fragrances.
Opening note of Ylang Ylang essence is very fresh and deep floral. It was new to me and I was completely unfamiliar with the scent. It is very prominent as an opening note but not sickeningly sweet floral.
Ylang Yalng is followed by Damask rose essence. I grew up
in a home where we had several different varieties of roses and pink damask
rose, looked like a pom-pom weighing down with its own petals weight, had a
significant yet classic rose fragrance among all. Although they were not very
appealing to the eyes among the big erected stiff white and red roses, who
stood in the garden like kings and queens. A classic rose scent can be associated
with pink roses but in J’adore, it is not overpowering the whole perfume. It remains
very subtle and humble. It dilutes in the sambac jasmine scent.
Base note is Sambac jasmine absolute, which reminds me of
cool summer mornings. It was my grandmother favourite flower and every morning
she would collect them from the shrub and would place them on a breakfast
table. A ritual, adopted by my mom and carried by me to some extent. Sambac
jasmine is much softer then common jasmine flower also known as poet’s jasmine (Chambali).
If you judge J’adore fragrance, based on its main notes,
you may think it as an old-fashioned and heavy perfume. However, that is not
the case here. It is very delicate and subtle fragrance infused with warm
floral scents.
J’adore stays better on bare skin and the scent lingers and
wraps around your senses all day/night long. Although J’adore contains all the
summer flowers scents yet it is very romantic, feminine, sensuous and refined. I
am seeing myself wearing it in future a lot.
