I
am a lipstick eater. If I go to any function, after an hour or so, I have to
refresh my lipstick which can be a bit annoying sometimes. So I decided to give
Lipcote a try and see how this product works.
Lipcote
is a clear liquid comes in a small glass bottle with a brush applicator. When I
received it first, I was shocked with the amount of product but they claim 100 applications
out of one bottle. When I opened it for the first time, the fragrance really
put me off. It has very strong alcoholic fragrance but once apply, its gone. It
also stings a bit but not very bad.
Application:
First
I scrubbed my lips and applied a lip balm. This step is not necessary but why I
took an extra was because of the essential oils in Lipcote and some reviews from previous
user claiming it to dries out lips. Before getting started with the lip colour,
it is important to wipe any excess balm from lips or otherwise there is a
chance of lip colour to slip. The scrub I uses is Lush Santa and lip balm is
Burt Bees. Never mind my balm
tin, it is quite beaten up
I
followed instruction exactly the same way what was recommended on the box. Lip liner,
Lipstick, blotting, repeat lipstick then Lipcote, wait for 3 minutes and let the product dry completely with lips apart . Well let me add that it is a
time consuming process but with bold lips, taking an extra measure can make a
huge difference.
Findings:
Lipcote
claims a kiss proof lipstick. I am not really sure about it. Because my lips
did leave some light mark on glass but if consider the amount of colour I applied
and the formula of lipstick, then it can get an edge. You can use matte
lipstick and apply a lip gloss on top as well.
I
used a creamy formula for lipstick to check lipcote real deal. And I must say
that I liked this product. After good four hours with eating and drinking the
lipstick looked fresh and stayed on place. Seriously no smudge, no budge. I didn't feel my lips dry but still
on a safe side I applied my TBS Satsuma lip balm on top of lipcote. And it gave
my lips a very nice finish. The Body Shop Satsuma balm has shimmer in it.
Over all I am happy with my purchase and will definitely
buy it again. And Yes, it works very well with glossy finish lipstick as well.
I
hope you like this review. Please leave your comment below and share your
