The Ordinary Buffet Serum Review

When a skincare brand is this economical that I can get products to address any skin issue, then why not collect them all. And I am exactly doing that nowadays. A month ago, I did another haul from The Ordinary, some items were old favourites repurchased, while few were new products I wanted to try for my recent skin concerns. As it is winter and my skin doesn’t cope with the weather very well. Hence I needed some light weight serum which provides instant hydration to revitalize skin without being heavy.

The Ordinary Buffet is a multi-tasking serum. The name says it all. It is “all your skin can eat under £12”. While Buffet is £12.70 for 30ml, it is the most expensive product in The Ordinary skincare line. It is full of peptides, amino acid, probiotics and hylauronic acid.

Buffet is designed to target multiple signs of ageing. However those peptides are particularly good for deep hydration, plumping and firming of skin, smoothing fine lines and reducing textural irregularities.

I use Buffet right after cleansing and toning because it’s a water based solution so it must go before any creams or oils. The serum itself is clear get texture liquid and has no fragrance at all. I was amazed with the spreadability of serum. I only need four drops for my entire face and neck. It definitely has humectant tackiness but it absorbs into skin immediately and provides a good base for additional products for layering.

I have been using buffet serum for about a month and I have very positive views about it. It hydrates my skin very well and I can see visible difference in my skin texture. It has plumping properties as it claims and rejuvenates and refreshes skin. I didn't experience any breakout which is always my main concern with serums.

    1. Meant to say I can't believe how reasonable the prices are. I have a couple of products from The Ordinary (the retinol) and will certainly be trying more.

    2. Retinol is also my favourite but I didn't use it enough to review it in detail.

  5. I love the idea of it being like a buffet for your face! Weirdly I was just placing an order for some goodies for the ordinary, adding this in for sure x

    1. Break out is the main problem I face with many serums as well. But it worked well for me.
