This year the whole beauty market is flooded with amazing limited edition holiday gift sets. Although choices are unlimited, it’s pretty confusing and intimidating at the same time. However, one gift set stood out the most and that is Marc Jacobs Up All Night Lip Crème Set. It is limited edition.
Marc Jacobs up all night lip crème set contains five mini lipsticks in a beautiful shiny vibrant pinky-purple clutch style casing with a nice touch of silky black tassel. This clutch is really pretty and very practical too. I can use it in number of ways. It is cute enough as a hand clutch, but also spacious to store all your makeup items on the go. It is quite sturdy and high quality as well.
All five lipstick shades are from Marc Jacobs Le Marc range. They are creamy and very soft on lips. They have satiny finish. All shades are highly pigmented and long wearing. The colour range is very interesting, starting from the nude and ending with a deep plum shade. All shades are permanent and are available in full size, if you care for one or two shades.
No Angel (apricot nude) is a little pale for my skin tone but I always line and fill my lips with nude lip liner before nude lipsticks to cancel out lip colour. That’s how nude shades work best for me. Also a tad darker lip liner blended with the nude lipsticks doesn’t washout.
Slow Burn (creamy nude rose) is probably my favourite because it is a fool proof shade for all skin tones. A beautiful pink nude is an everyday and every occasion appropriate shade for little uplifting. Such shades look good on every complexion.
Oh Miley! (strawberry spice) is a bright classic pink-red shade. Again suitable for every skin tone. It is more glamorous, open and red carpet shade. Don’t forget to sneak this little guy in your hand bag this party season.
Miss Scarlet (deep ruby) is a dark ruby shade; not vampy though. I owned one shade like this long ago but then when daily routine became a little hectic, I went back to basics. I am actually pretty excited for Miss scarlet. It instantly adds a little mystery and drama to the whole look. For a beautiful fuller pout, this shade is a winner in my opinion.
Scandal (intense plum) is a beautiful deep and rich plum shade. I found it a little patchy in one swipe but with a second coat it came out perfect. This is also my first lipstick in plum shade. I was never gravitated towards plum shades; always thought that they won’t suit me. I loved it on others a lot but now owning one, it changed my mind. It suits my complexion. This shade is out of my comfort zone but I am bolder with my lipstick choices now.
Overall I am happy with my purchase as Marc Jacob up all night lip crème set gave me an opportunity to try out some different shades. It is also a good way to try out Marc Jacobs lipsticks without splashing lots of money.
I am collecting more lipsticks then I actually need but we all go through a phase where we get obsess with a thing and hoard it like a crazy person. In my defence, lipstick is the only makeup product which can change my look instantly and brighten up my day without any effort.
