Goof Around in Style: Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

Benefit recently launched a huge collection of brow products. This collection includes every possible eyebrow product one can imagine. Some are completely new to Benefit cosmetic line, while already existing Benefit’s famous brow products got a complete new makeover.  From this very extensive collection, I only managed to get this skimpy little guy, Benefit goof proof bow pencil, free with ELLE UK magazine.

“What?”

“Why are you squinting your eyes? Why are you giving this weird look? I know what you are thinking.”

“You want me to say that I bought the magazine only for this free product?” “Huh!!”

“I do read magazines… sometimes” *rolling eyes*

“Okay... Fine. I did buy magazine only for the free product” -_-

I am broke man. L

Now that’s settled and you know the reason behind. Can we move forward now?

So I got a sample of goof proof pencil with the July issue of ELLE magazine. Because all the beauty world and particularly blogging world was talking about Benefit new products. As much as I wanted to try goof proof pencil immediately, I still didn’t want to ignore the magazine. That would not be fair. After all it is a book and one must not be disrespectful to a book.

My idea of reading a magazine is relaxing in a cosy sofa, wearing fluffy socks and sipping through a steaming cup of tea. But I didn’t get any time for that. I had a goof proof pencil to try out. So I quickly went through 180+ pages. Bella Hadid was looking absolutely stunning onthe cover. She is well deserving to be on the cover page. I mean this girl has all the bits to be called a super model. Lusted over all the fancy things and especially the Dior handbag, which can seriously give me new life (may be after costing me my life). Read about some very brave and inspirational ladies and how they were changing the course of society with their efforts. And on the other hand, there was me, sitting here and getting excited about the free sample.

For a moment I wanted to take control of my life and be as productive as I can. But then the goof proof pencil shone and I was distracted, that easily. Don’t take me wrong. It is not like I completely gave up on my dreams, I just put a hold on them till my brow game is strong.

Now the fun part, a review. The packaging of goof proof is very distinctive, unique and fun at the same time for a brow pencil. Sliver shiny plastic casingl with geometric design lid. The goof proof pencil is a retractable pencil. The actual product is also cut in a diamond shape with one very pointy end for precise application and wider middle for easy filling. The full size pencil has a spoolie brush on other end as well. The goof proof pencil has 12-hour wear time and is water proof.
I am very new to brow products really. And I didn’t use many products either so I had no idea what to expect. Goof proof pencil comes in six shades. The shade I got is no. 6 which is the deepest of all. It was a lucky dip and I had to roll along.

When I first tried to use the pencil, it was very stiff and the tip of pointed end crumbled. So that was not a good start at all. However, once I warmed up the product at the back of my hand, it applied very softly and effortlessly. It was easy and quick to fill in my brows with such tip however I prefer to work with the pointy end. Because I don’t have sparse eyebrows or have big gaps in it. I only need to fill in my eyebrows with tiny strokes for natural finish. The product lasted on me for about eight hours and after that I washed my face and it didn’t run down which was a good sign.

I am not quite sure about the shade though. Or I guess I overfilled my eyebrows. They look pretty dark to me. What do you think? The shade no 4 or 5 will suits me much better.

Overall I really enjoyed the product. the finish I got was very natural, not over the top. I will definitely be checking out other shades once it hits the Debenhams stores on 23/06/2016. And will also be throwing hints here and there to people around me. May be I get lucky and someone surprise me with a present. You never know ;)

  2. I didnt notice much of a difference in the brows, probably the shade is more suitable to blondes. Seems like a good product though with correct shade. Thanks for the lovely light review :)

  9. I think the shade is just fine, actually! It still looks pretty natural to me and maybe if you want it more subtle, just lessen the application? :)
