I hope this New Year brings peace to the restless world. Ameen!
At the start of New Year I am reviewing for a very first time on my blog, lip products from the brand Ciate London. If you are someone who is nails art fanatic you must be familiar with the brand. Ciate is famous for wide range of nail polishes. However last year Ciate brought out the fall makeup in collaboration with Olivia Palermo which contains lips, face and eyes products along some unique collection of nail paints.
I picked two lipsticks in shade Truffle and Praline from the range. I have two reasons why I picked only lipsticks from the range. First one is I am expanding my lipsticks collection which is very limited at the moment. And second I didn't find any carmine listed in the ingredients list which was perfect as I always prefer carmine free lip products especially when they are expensive.
I really like the gold packaging with black Olivia Palermo name and black Ciate bow on top of the lid. It is simple but with some character. The cardboard packaging has leather pattern and gold writing which make it stand out from the rest. And I believe that was the whole idea behind the packaging. Lipsticks are also engraved with Olivia Palermo initials on one side and with bow on other side which is cute.
The lipstick formula is very soft and feels very luxurious on lips. The finish is satin and I personally adore satiny finish lip products. You can’t really go wrong with them.
Truffle is a flash tone colour with a pink undertone. The reason I used the word flash not nude is because nude colours have usually a bit of brown in them. If you have very fair skin then Truffle will look pinker on you rather than a perfect nude. I have medium tone skin and it looked nice. This range has a shade called Cashmere which is lighter than truffle and is perfect for very pale skin ladies.
Praline is muted brown with red undertone more like brick colour. This colour gave me very hard time while photographing. The swatch was giving more red reflection then brown. But it is true Praline colour and I am absolutely loving it.
I am enjoying my lipsticks a lot. You can always check out the collection on CiateLondon website. I hope you have also enjoyed this review. If you have used any product from Ciate, tell me what you think about the brand?
