I am skincare obsess person and in skincare I have a special
place in my heart for face masks. To rejuvenate and recharge myself, I apply
face mask and zone out.
LUSH is quite famous for its fresh face masks which are freshly
prepared almost every day without any preservatives. They need to be stored in
a refrigerator and can stay fresh for about a month.
Recently I got the asparagus and kiwi mask called Ayesha
from the range. LUSH named the mask after a fictional priestess who discovered
the secret to immortality. Ayesha contains honey, fresh kiwi fruit, asparagus
and fuller earth along with some other natural oils and extracts. I love the
fact that all the ingredients in the list are known by me and I can pronounce
them as well. It gives me the satisfaction that I am not putting any nasty stuff
on my face. It feels natural and smells natural although not very pleasant which
is annoying. It has strong asparagus smell. It can put you off instantly but
keeping in mind that it is made of 99%natural ingredients, I can make peace
with it.
The mask comes in a standard black plastic tub and
according to LUSH if 5 clean tubs of any mask are returned back to them, they
will give one fresh mask free which is not a bad deal. I got the 75g tub and it
costs around £6. I can easily get about 5 to 6 applications from this tub or a
couple of more if I am a bit stingy.
The consistency of the mask is like thick paste because
it has fuller earth but not strong or rubbery like other mud masks. You can see
the seeds of kiwi and also chunks of asparagus if I am not wrong.
I absolutely love this mask, as simple as that. I have
been using it for couple of weeks and it really performs what it claims. I apply
it all over my face and neck and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes for maximum
benefit. After that I wash it off like normally we all do with masks. It doesn't dry out completely because it is not that sort of mask but some areas can feel
a bit tight. As I have to keep the mask in refrigerator, it feels very relaxing
and calming.
After rinsing it off, I can see the visible results. It leaves
my skin very clean, fresh and glowing. It tightens the pores and I feel like my
skin just had a litre of water. My skin looks really awake after every use. I personally
don’t even feel the urge of moisturising my face afterwards. It looks plump and
very soft to touch.
LUSH marketed this mask for mature skin for instant uplifting
and tightening of skin. I believe it is suitable for every age group. Because it
transforms dull and tired skin into radiant and refreshed skin instantly. Ayesha
is a perfect mask to use before going out for a big day or night when your skin
is not behaving or any other time when you want to pamper yourself a little.
I hope you have enjoyed my review. Are you a LUSH fan? Don’t
forget to drop your two cents.
