Buxom Lips... The Bigger, The Better

If you are fan of lip plumping lip glosses then I guarantee, you will love Buxom lip polishes as well. I never owned any lip plumping products before. I tried once Too Faced lip injection and it was horrific experience. My lips were burning like hell and felt sore.

To be very honest I never felt the use of such products however, this time I jumped on the bandwagon of lip plumping glosses and brought home these two beautiful Buxom full-on lip polishes in shades Dolly and Gabby.

Buxom lip glosses are exclusive to Sephora and are available in insane 100 shades.  Ranging from nudes to pinks to orange to deep plum shades. There is a shade for every mood and liking.

The box packaging is different and catchy. Nonetheless I can’t make my mind whether I like it or not. Shades are named after female names and every box has different female sketch. They must have put a lot of thinking in creating 100 different female figures which is creative. The rest of the box packaging is unnecessarily overloaded with bold and too much of writing. Lip polishes come in a standard plastic clear tube with a doe foot applicator.

The formulation of the product is very comfortable to wear. It sticks to the lips and doesn't bleed. It smooths on lips effortlessly and gives cushiony feel. According to Sephora website, it has Vitamin A and E which help in nourishing lips as well. These lip glosses are extremely glossy, shiny and shimmery and catch light so perfect to make lips look plump. They smell so good, just like vanilla. The finish is not opaque obviously. They are quite sheer but give a good tint to lips. You can wear it alone or on top of any other lip product.  One thing which I noticed that these lip polishes also don’t give those threads kind of texture when you pat lips together like other lip glosses do. And if it did I would be sick in no time. So for me it was a win win situation.

Dolly is a cult classic and one of Buxom best seller and I can see it clearly why. It is beautiful mauvey pink shade with tones of shimmers in it. It is perfect for everyday use. And it will look good on everyone.

Gabby is more deep purple, plumy shade. Again it is very glossy with tones of shimmers in it.
Once applied it tingles little bit but not crazy and make lips very voluptuous and smooth creases if any. It makes lips icy cold and you can feel it if you drink or breathe with open mouth. It is very interesting feeling. It is like eating mint candy. The effect lasts for around two hours before reapplying.

I am in love with these glosses and I am eyeing few more shades to get as well especially Sandy.

With all the good things about these glosses I must warn if you are allergic to Menthol or any product which have menthol in it then you may not want to get it. It can worsen the situation. Also I have dry lips (not super dry but still) no matter how much water I drink or use lip balms, I also refrain to use it on daily basis. Because these kinds of products can make lips dry, chapped and also dark in colour. Alternate can be Soap&Glory lip gloss sticks (review here) which are very comfortable to use; they don’t tingle at all and also don’t make lips dry. They also don’t come in 100 shades though.

I hope you have enjoyed this review. Leave your comment if you did. I read every comment.

  5. I dont like lip glosses because of the stickiness and the weird smell. Vanilla scent seems good though but are they sticky?

  7. I like the packaging but the ladies' depiction feels kinda sexist. I don't know the philosophy behind the brand though :D Your lip swatches are lovely and these certainly seem like a good option for plumping glosses. I tried the MUA one and it burned me so badly the first time. The second time was better but still ...painful! -Sadaf

    1. I agree with you on packaging. I also don't really like such kind of packaging or products names. I consider them a bit rude but the product itself is good.

  9. Your lip swatches look very pretty. I really don't need to plump my lips any more than they already are and after exfoliating they look much more full so I'm not into plumping products. :D
