Hello again all my loves…
I am back with another review about another new product from L’Oréal Infallible line and that is Infallible 24H matte foundation. Without further ado, let’s dig in.
L’Oréal claims Infallible 24H matte foundation as a high coverage, 24 hours matte foundation. We will find out today that does it live up to that claim or not? I already reviewed the primer from the Infallible line in my previous post and I absolutely loved it. You can give it a read here, in case if you are wondering.
The L’Oréal Infallible 24H matte foundation comes in six shades and I chose the shade 12 Natural Rose. It has the similar packaging as infallible primer but the tube has matte finish, which gives it a very high end look.
The Texture of foundation is smooth as it is also silicon based Foundation. I wish it was more velvety though. The texture of foundation is not runny but also not as thick. The application is not that smooth as I was expecting. It sets pretty quickly and if you are not fast enough to blend it in, it will set in streaks and can look patchy.
Once you pass this stage then, here comes the coverage issue. The packaging describes it as a high coverage foundation but I found out that it is not. It gives more of medium coverage. If you want to get more coverage then you have to re-apply another layer. But as it sets instantly, applying another layer on top can be a bit tricky. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin though.
I tried this foundation with and without infallible primer. I applied it on half of my face with primer and on other half without it. I let it to stay for about six hours. I stayed all this time indoor and was not near to any heat and didn't do any physical exertion. But it was a hot and humid day and here are the results.
With primer, the coverage was more natural then powdery. My face got little bit shiny on T-zone after an hour or so because it was super humid that day. But surprisingly it didn't get oilier than that for the rest of time. My foundation stayed on for the whole time. For which I will give it a big thumbs up.
Now without primer, the foundation stayed put without budging and fading. However it clung to my dry patch real bad. This foundation is so dry that it doesn't melt into skin and kind of sits on top of the skin. Without primer I felt that it oxidized tiny bit as well. Interestingly without primer it stayed matte for longer than with primer underneath. The 24H matte finish is a bit of a stretch though. But it is also true that it makes skin less shiny as compare to other brands foundations. If I scale it from 1 to 5, with 1 is completely matte and 5 super oily than on that scale my skin was oily at level 2. And just to remind you quickly that I do have oily skin.
For the sake of experiment, I mist rose water on my face on top of foundation where I felt dryness and it refreshed my skin instantly with a little glow and I didn't experience any meltdown.
I am not a big fan of matte foundation anymore. I felt my skin like paper. May be the reason is that I used a proper matte foundation after so many years that I almost forgot the feel of it on my skin. So I remained a bit uncomfortable and had a feeling of stretchy skin. Nevertheless, L’Oréal Infallible 24H matte foundation is a good foundation for super oily to combination skin. The infallible foundation stays matte for longer than normal foundation. I believe the infallible primer and foundation both are meant to be use together. The finish is more flawless this way.
My last but not least review from the infallible line will be about Mega gloss lip gloss, which is my favourite product from infallible line. I can’t wait to share my thoughts about that. You can find this foundation online here.
I hope you find this review helpful. Have a nice week my friends. Kindly do share your thoughts.
